ROB'S PRIORITIES

Pedestrian and Bike safety need to be a top priority for San Mateo - we've had far too many close calls involving our children, and we've lost our focus on Vision Zero. I will also ensure that our city has enough Police & Fire resources to maintain safety during our city's growth. I will also act as a watchdog to ensure that PG&E is kept in check - for example the safety of the gas transmission line which runs through our district.

We need affordable housing for our teachers, first responders, restaurant and retail/grocery workers. We need not just affordable rentals but new affordable homes for purchase. We don't need more$3,000/mon. luxury rental units! Rentals have to be affordable & we need to grow housing while protecting the character of the city and growing infrastructure to maintain our city's safety and quality of life.

It is critical that San Mateo remain vigilant and proactive with regards to maintaining the infrastructure necessary to support projected growth. This includes mitigating traffic at key choke points like Concar/92, Hillsdale/101, as well as maintaining our roads, ensuring sufficient water resources, and basic residential needs like police, fire, schools, grocery stores, etc.

My family built a successful digital printing company from the ground up. We started running it as a family and grew it to a team of 150 serving, for which I am the Operations/Plant Manager. I understand the many unique and pressing challenges faced by our small businesses, and how vital they are to San Mateo. I will continue to support small businesses and industry growth to bring more jobs to San Mateo.

I will work to maintain a high quality of life & safety in San Mateo. As we grow, I will be an advocate for parks & to maintain our leadership in sustainability. I want to be sure we continue to create bike and pedestrian-friendly corridors, and more car charging stations. It is important that we maintain our outdoor spaces and move the city to having more LEED-certified buildings. We live in the heart of Silicon Valley - we should be one of the greenest & most innovative cities in the world.
